Whether it’s your first visit or a long-overdue return, here are some tips to help you make the most of your time in Thailand!
-
Grab: The local version of Uber. Use it for taxis, food delivery, or to get around easily. Grab Bikes are for the brave ones ;) Always ask for a helmet.
Google Maps: Works well for walking and driving directions.
XE Currency: For quick currency conversions.
-
Currency: Thai Baht (THB)
ATMs are widely available and most accept international cards.
Credit cards are accepted in many places, but cash is still king at markets and smaller shops.
Tipping is appreciated (but not expected). Rounding up or leaving 20–50 THB at restaurants is a kind gesture.
-
From the airport: Pre-book with our transportation partner (see “How to Get There”), or use Grab for convenience (might be expensive to Pattaya)
Local travel: Grab is the easiest. You can also try tuk-tuks for short distances—negotiate the price before the ride. Don’t get scammed.
Grab Motorbike taxis: Common in cities, but only for the brave! Helmets required.

February is dry season and usually warm and sunny. Expect daytime temperatures around 28–32°C (82–90°F).
Light clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent are recommended. A light sweater for air-conditioned spaces might come in handy.
-
A plug adapter (Thailand uses Type A, B, and C plugs – 220V)
-
General Emergency: 191
Tourist Police: 1155 (English-speaking)
